​At SDRA, our purpose is to advocate, inform and provide services for our member businesses. SDRA is an active and highly-respected statewide trade organization that represents the interests of South Dakota businesses who sell retail products and services. From member benefits and news to retail trends and training, we are here to inform our members. We're proud to be a voice for retail in South Dakota.

To unify, protect, educate and lead the retail community and strive to enhance the business climate in South Dakota to enable retailers to better serve consumers.

MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS BENEFITS

The South Dakota Retailers Association fosters the retail, hospitality, trades, online, and grocery industries' success and profitability in our state. By collectively investing in education, governmental affairs, and information services, SDRA offers our members numerous benefits and money-saving services!
​Members are served by exceptional SDRA lobbying and government relations staff. We work diligently to promote the retail industry on both state and national levels. Our team has an outstanding track record of enacting legislation that is beneficial to the business community and blocking laws and regulations that would be over-restrictive and burdensome. Updates ​are provided weekly during the legislative session, so our members don't miss a thing!
Providing information has been an essential part of the association’s mission since 1897. SDRA provides and supports education through training, seminars, scholarships, and ServSafe food service programs. SDRA publishes multiple publications throughout the year, keeping our members up-to-date on business issues, trends, laws, and regulations. ​​

SDRA Help Desk The SDRA office is here to help. Our institutional knowledge can assist in answering common business questions. If we don’t have the answer, we’ll direct you to people who do. Please feel free to contact our office at info@sdra.org.

Robert S. Vessey, South Dakota's 7th Governor, was among the founding merchants of the South Dakota Retailers Association in 1897. His statue is part of the South Dakota Trail of Governors and is located in front of the SDRA office in Pierre.
