Keeping our members informed is an important aspect of our responsibilities as an
Association. There are several ways we keep our members up to date on our
activities, and the issues of which they need to be aware.
- Since 1899, SDRA has been publishing
a newsletter to keep our members up-to-date on retail issues and trends, and on
laws and regulations. The Retail Prophet is now published monthly (with
the exception of February and March). The newsletter supplies answers to questions
asked by retailers, and provides monthly taxable sales reports, as well as keeping
you informed on retail issues. Members of our Hospitality Division also receive
an insert in each month's newsletter, with information focusing on hospitality issues.
- During the State Legislative Session
in January and February, we publish a weekly Legislative Bulletin with details
about retail-related legislation.
- We publish an annual Legislative Lineup,
with photos of legislators, legislative schedules, and useful information about
the legislative process.
We publish an Annual Report, highlighting key activities
of the Association. The report is presented to members who attend the Annual Meeting
in January.
