The South Dakota Retailer of the Year Award is a prestigious award which is presented annually to the owner or manager of a retail business in South Dakota, who consistently provides outstanding customer service and is also actively involved in their community. 

The award is an opportunity not only for SDRA to honor an excellent business, but also for customers, employees, vendors and community members to recognize an individual or business for outstanding business practices and community involvement.

Previous recipients of the Retailer of the Year Award have come from every size of community in South Dakota, and they have operated businesses as diverse as flower shops, clothing stores, grocery stores, computer stores, appliance businesses, hardware stores, shoe stores, gift shops, restaurants, implement dealerships and pharmacies.

Each year, the award is presented at an Awards Banquet held in conjunction with SDRA's Annual Meeting the evening before the State Legislative Session gets underway in January.

Nominations are welcome from the general public.
